SUPERINTENDANT’S LETTER OF INTRODUCTION 

Dear W.K. Jackson Leadership Academy Families, 

President Barack Obama said it best when he stated: “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.  We are the ones we've been waiting for.  We are the change that we seek.”  We cannot wait for some other person or some other time to change the trajectory of the educational landscape for our scholars.  Thank you for joining with the highly motivated and experienced staff of the W.K. Jackson Leadership Academy to activate the educational change for the scholars of Oklahoma City and surrounding areas. 

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Superintendent of a great community that values excellence at all levels.  As an educator for over 38 years  with rural, urban, suburban, secondary, elementary and higher education experience my background is varied.  I have educational experience in all levels.  I bring a great commitment and passion for equitable educational opportunities for all scholars in our community. 

Please know that it is my intent to make every effort to foster a culture of connection, educational excellence, engagement, structure, and a safe environment for our W.K. Jackson leadership Academy scholars.  Part of this work will include a 100-day Plan that incorporates specific areas of focus with action items.  The specific areas of focus are culture, organizational and academic proficiency, and community connections. 

While serving as the Superintendent of the Academy, it is my intent to be accessible to all community stakeholders and maintain an open-door communication practice.  I encourage and welcome any questions or concerns you may have, my email address is ganderson@wkjackson.org.  It is an exciting time in education, let’s get ‘Back to Basics’ and make a positive impact for all of our scholars.
