WK Jackson Leadership Academy FAQs

  1. When is the first day of school?
    • The first day of school is August 23, 2022.
  2. Where do we drop off and pick up scholars?
    • Please follow the directional signs entering the North side of campus.  Exit procedure is to use the South side of campus.  This way, we  ensure the safety of all scholars and families when entering and departing our campus.  DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD OUTSIDE UNATTENDED.  SCHOLARS CANNOT BE DROPPED OFF ON CAMPUS UNTIL THE BUILDING OPENS AT 7:30AM...ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!
  3. What COVID-19 safety measures will be put in place?
    • We will follow and implement current CDC, US, and state guidelines.  Scholars and instructors will be required to wear masks and/or face shields.  We will do our best to  seperate scholars 3 feet.  Notifications will be posted and/or distributed to parents/guardians prior to school opening.
  4. Do the scholars need to wear uniforms and what do we do if we can’t find yellow Polo’s??
    • Scholars will be required to wear approved uniforms.  See website for requirements.  White Polo’s will always be the back-up plan if yellow Polo’s are unavailable.
  5. What are the school hours and what grades will be served?
    • The school hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday.
    • We will serve grades Pre-K through 2nd  grade this year.
  6. What do the scholars do about breakfast and lunch?
    • Breakfast and lunch will be provided by W. K. Jackson Leadership Academy.  
    • Breakfast and Lunch fees will be determined by completion of the breakfast and lunch online application form or a hard copy may be picked up, completed, and returned to the main office.
    • Special diet forms must be completed and returned to the main office as soon as possible to make accomodations for your child. 
  7. What can I do to help?
    • Please sign up for a variety of volunteer opportunities.
  8. What is the curriculum?
    • We follow all Oklahoma state standards supported by project based learning, project-based learning,  hands-on activities, Savas Learning, Treasures, McMillian, Success for All, as well as other curriculum resources.
  9. What are the drop off and pick up routes?
    • The route for drop off and pick up is being evaluated with cooperation with the City of Oklahoma City and school safety team.  The route will be shared when approved.  See Map
  10. Is transportation provided for scholars?
    • No transportation will not be  provided for scholars.
