This week we proudly celebrate Marjorie Hammond, our outstanding STEAM/Speech teacher at W.K. Jackson Leadership Academy. Mrs. Hammond turns curiosity into confidence—guiding students from tinkering with simple circuits and coding mini-robots to delivering clear, compelling speeches about what they built and why it matters. In her classroom, every project ends with a voice: students learn to test ideas, iterate, and then present their thinking with poise. She creates inclusive teams where quiet students find the courage to lead, and natural talkers learn to listen and lift others. Mrs. Hammond builds skills that stick—problem-solving, collaboration, and authentic communication. Our kids leave her room a little bolder, a lot more capable, and excited to take on the next challenge. Congratulations, Mrs. Hammond—Teacher of the Week!
